Sam Berman was born in 1905, and got his art training at the Pratt. He brought a certain rambunctiousness to FORTUNE in the treatment of political events. He also worked for COLLIER's and a sprightly book of caricatures, The NBC Parade of Stars was published in 1947. He was a remarable wielder of the air brush to achieve a shiny wet look to flesh. His portrait of Will Hays was quite a riposte to the Man that Hollywood loved to hate, the Guardian of the Hays Code.
