A depiction of an elderly (Rockwellesque) lady visiting a beauty parlor and standing in front of a stylish seated women who radiates confidence but presumably has no idea where to begin with her new client.

The painting is a variant of that published in the August 16, 1958 issue of the Saturday Evening Post. The illustration heads an article by Maurice Zolotow titled, “The Lady’s Last Fling.” In addition to the painting the following items were included with the lot:

1) A graphite drawing of the single figure of the lady. Board 284 x 206 Image 239 x 92 (9.4” x 3.6”)

2) A large scale (much larger than the painting) graphite transfer drawing on tracing paper with sheet dimensions of 435 x 598

3) A smaller, actual scale size, graphite transfer drawing on tracing paper with sheet dimensions of 300 x 355
