Paul Hambleton Landacre, 1893 -1963 was largely self taught as a printmaker, having taken up art after an infection had made him an invalid but immediately took to lino and woodcutting. He settled in Los Angles and produced work as a subscription scheme - the Landacre Association for friends and contacts. His papers are held by the Clark memorial Library UCLA. He killed himself three weeks after the death of his wife in 1963. His book illustrations are more literal than his independent prints, bold and direct if a bit leaden.
