I had taken my copy of the huge July 1939 issue of FORTUNE to the party given by the Burcks. Ricki Harrison beamed with a sort of dry delight, and showed me small maverick inscriptions he had secreted into the map. "Proposed Lindenthal Briidge under obstruction (sic) ...." - "NB" he wrote with arrow and then added his own signature in ink, upper left. Look at this detail, if only to see the graphic precision of a map that measures 29 x 40 cms by four. It is a magnificent spectacle.
