We demonstrated The Art of Light at the Corn Hall in Brighton. Oriole Mullen and Jackie Batey were on hand to help viewers. On the wall is a large reproduction of the Fludde Memory Theatre. Screen Grabs on the wall represented the different sections of the project, the Garden, the Cabinet of Curiosities and the Labyrinth. Beside the computer is a series of polemic statements about the nature of information as experienced in an interactive multi-media way. The statements appealed to a European culture rather than an American cultural dominance. We urged a return to those moments in the seventeenth century when Learning stood uneasily between Magic and Science. |
