| Hans Tisdall

Tisdall was born in Munich and settled in Britain in 1930. His clear coloured
illustrative style was highly suitable to the task of making staple knowledge
attractive for children, in Wheels (Pleides, London 1946,
with text by the architect Oliver Hill ) and Balbus, A Picture
      Book of Building 1944.
