In this illustration I have used red to emphasise movement together with dynamic, explosive-like angles to everything.
There is also a question of how visual reference can be gathered as an aid to creating illustrations.
I think you need to develop a power of being able to draw everything otherwise your ideas can be impoverished if you limit yourself.
I often rely on visual memory and drawing from the imagination.
Some parts of the illustrations are drawn from direct observation and sometimes I borrow and adapt information gleaned from other forms of pictorial material.
