This a selection from the article in FORTUNE in 1935. Pages 73, 149 and 150 are missing. The detailed industrial information is not unusual for the magazine in the 1930's, but the wealth of accompanying imagery (even at the back of the book) is unusually rich. The Art Director's mix of illustrations (Stuyvesant Van Veen) and photographs (Charles Jacobs and Kip Ross) woven around the text in black bordered imagery, is more fragmented and fussy than after 1940 but has its own charm and visual impact
