Many of the heroes are abused by those who look on; often nosey parkers who chide individuals and abhor eccentricity in others.
The limericks involve only a few words to illustrate and in some of them there is quite a lot of violence in them.
The bottom right illustration is about a Man of the West.
I have thus depicted people from the East to clarify his coming from the West.
Notice too that the two left hand pictures are vignettes as opposed to the enclosed illustrations on the right, a way of offering contrast in imagery.
